Wedding Speech

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Clifton T Generally, there are three main speeches in a wedding reception. The first is the fathers speech, something that most of us forget. Secondly will be the bridegrooms speech, then it comes to the best mans speech. Fathers speech The brides father should be called upon by the best man to propose a toast to both the bride and the bridegroom. But before doing that, relatives and close friends ar to say a few simple words of the bride. Then the brides father will appreciate the bride in words and followed by the toast. Bridegrooms speech The bridegroom will take the opportunity to thank their parents on the years they were brought up for the love and care, and also for the blessings they receive from them.If there are members in the family or close friends that are unable to attend your wedding, you should mention them and wish them a speedy recovery. Lastly, appreciate those great helpers that have help you through the day for a job well done. Best mans speech It is important that the best mans speech to be light hearted and fun. It is suppose to be the most interesting part in the whole event with humour and stories to tell. Here is an example: I am honoured to be the best man. I like to thank John for his kind words. John was born in the year of great human achievements, first man on the moon, the first concorde to be flown, and thus influence John to be an astronaut, though he did not make it due to no rockets in Singapore. And his hero, the six million dollar man. And so he became a pilot, not too far from being an astronaut.John was a success in everything he did. But is he all such a goodie two shoes. During the younger days, John stole the car keys from his Dad and drove around the street, in the end he knock the car on to the neighbors gate. Yep, everyone of you in this ballroom would probably think that he is such an irresponsible kid, but that was just a BMX bicycle. Something like that will cheer the audience up and follow by some games they have planned. Clifton has been writing wedding articles for http://www.wedding-wedding-wedding.com for years. He was a much celebrated wedding planner who has helped put together numerous beautiful and joyous weddings. WaterWise Gardening - The Basics Required to Create a WaterWise Garden

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Lyn Phillips Even with water restrictions in place, it is still possible to create an attractive garden without using copious amounts of water. Soil Preparation Soil preparation and mulch are essential in a waterwise garden. A good mulch has many advantages, including; - adding valuable nutrients and humus to the soil as it breaks down, - keeping the soil temperature uniform, - reducing surface evaporation by 70-80 per cent, - allowing for deep and infrequent watering, - encouraging earthworm activity, which creates channels for the passage of water and roots, and - eliminating stress in shallow rooted plants and suppressing weeds. Compost and horse, sheep and cow manures are excellent for improving soil quality. Pea straw, lucerne, compost, leaf litter and chopped bark all make superb mulches. Watering Methods The method used to deliver water to plants is very important in getting the most benefit out of the water used. Conventional sprinklers deliver large amounts of water to large areas and can be extremely wasteful if not positioned thoughtfully. The most effective waterwise watering systems use in-line drippers, weeping hoses and drip tubes. These products are designed for placing under mulch and work best at low pressure, where water is delivered over a period of several hours, directly to the plant’s roots. In-line drippers are also suitable for lawns. Grouping plants with similar water requirements will assist in preventing over and under watering. Computerised watering systems allow for the delivery of a set amount of water at specified times, to various sections of the garden. Tap timers are a useful and cheap alternative. Using phosphate and petrochemical free, biodegradable laundry powders allows you to safely reuse the laundry water on the garden. Plant Selection There are 100s of water wise plants. You can select from Australian natives or exotic plants that come from areas of the world with Mediterranean climate conditions (these are areas that experience hot, dry summers with the majority of rain falling in winter). Plant labels often state how much water a plant needs. If you are not sure, look for plant characteristics such as thick leathery, hairy, wax-coated, succulent, silvery grey or fine needle-like leaves. Other sources of information for suitable water wise plant material are old neglected gardens, holiday homes and streetscapes. Top Summer Performers Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, Correa alba, Escallonia varieties, Hardenbergia violacea, Hibiscus (evergreen) & H. syriacus (deciduous), Lagerstroemia indica hybrids, Lomandra longifolia, Plectranthus argentatus, Santolina varieties, Westringia fruticosa & varieties. With a bit of planning and some basic knowledge you too can have a water wise garden. Pain Killer Addiction - Act Now Get Results Tomorrow

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Helen_Hecker] Helen Hecker Once a patient, addicted to pain killing drugs, has completed detoxification, the treatment provider must then work with the patient to determine which course of treatment is best for the patient. Often people who are addicted to pain killers are plagued with a variety of symptoms; many times they don’t associate these symptoms with the pain killing drug. 2.2 million people aged 12 and up abused painkillers for the first time within the past year; this is more than the number of people who started using marijuana and has overtaken use of cocaine. If you think you’re addicted and want to get off pain killers or other drugs, it’s best to get detoxified as fast as you can and then go through some type of rehabilitation; it’s important to have others to lean on and learn from and offer support to you also. When you’re addicted physically to a drug, like pain killers or alcohol, etc., it’s because you’ve suppressed or shut down your body’s production of endorphins, which are natural opiate pain killers; when this happens you start craving the drug that you replaced the endorphins with whether it is alcohol, any of various drugs or pain killers. More than 415,000 people received treatment for pain killer abuse or addiction in this past year. There are many side effects and serious adverse reactions that can occur with the use of opioids as pain killers. Many other drugs can interact with the opioids and cause a variety of unpleasant or dangerous symptoms; this can be fatal. Addiction to pain killers is an escalating problem, especially the abuse of opioid pain killers. The common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis (contraction of the pupil), orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drops upon sudden standing) — often happens when getting up too fast when getting out of bed in the morning, urinary retention, constipation and fecal impaction. Opioids, used as the doctor has prescribed, are supposedly not dangerous according to some well-established medical groups; but if that’s the case, why then are so many people addicted to them? If you’re addicted to pain killers or other drugs or think you may be, you can start working to increase the body’s endorphin production naturally; some of the ways are laughing, touching, massage, acupuncture, acupressure, walking, and anything that makes you feel good that is natural. There are quite a number of effective treatment options to treat pain killer addiction to prescription opioids and to help manage the sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms that can accompany the sudden stopping of pain killers or drugs. Pain killer addiction includes: opiate dependency, opiate addiction, narcotic dependency, narcotic addiction, and pain killer dependency. Less common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: confusion, hallucinations, delirium, hives, itching, hypothermia, bradycardia (slowed heart rate), tachycardia (rapid heart rate), raised intracranial pressure, ureteric or biliary spasm, muscle rigidity and flushing. The longer you wait to get treatment the worse it’ll get; so take action now. If you don’t have insurance, check with your local mental health agencies to see what’s available that is free. All other demands like that of children, a job, school, or any other responsibilities may make inpatient treatment seem like an intrusion but it is not. It’s important to get help and not try to get off pain killers on your own. Many insurance plans will cover inpatient detox; check yours if you have insurance. Some insurance companies will pay for one or two weeks; some may also pay for rehabilitation too. Today’s pain killer treatment options are drawn from long-time experience and clinical research from studying and treating all types of drugs and even heroin addiction. The body’s natural pain killers, endorphins, have been replaced by these pain killing drugs; get them flowing again with lots of laughter and other natural endorphin generators. The potential for pain killer addiction in patients with chronic pain conditions is often overlooked by physicians. Medical Travel and the Cosmetic Surgery Scene in the Philippines

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Carlos Lasa, Jr. More and more people from all over the world are traveling to other countries not only as tourists who come for sightseeing and shopping but also to get medical, dental, and surgical services from hospitals and other health destinations. Medical travel is a rapidly growing industry with countries like Cuba, Costa Rica, Hungary, India, Israel, Jordan, Lithuania, Malaysia, South Africa and Thailand actively promoting it. The Philippines is also fast becoming a favored destination for patients seeking quality medical care at very affordable prices. The high costs of healthcare in industrialized countries, the improved standards in foreign countries and the lower costs of air travel have made medical tourism a popular trend. In the Philippines, both local and foreign patients who otherwise couldn’t afford medical procedures such as plastic surgery benefit from the highly favorable exchange rate. The cost savings are significant. For example, if the average surgeon’s fee for eyelid surgery in the U.S. is $2,500, in the Philippines, a qualified surgeon will charge only $600 to $1,500. For liposuction, surgeon’s fees in the U.S. average $2,000 per area. In the Philippines, it is around $800 for the first area and $500 for succeeding areas. Anesthesiologist’s fees and facility costs are also much lower. Lower overhead costs and professional fees makes it possible for surgeons to perform these surgeries at a fraction of the cost of the same procedures in the United States, U.K. and other countries, without sacrificing quality of care. The Philippines’ medical services can rival the best in the world and a significant number of foreigners are choosing to undergo their cosmetic plastic surgery procedures such as liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, face lift, tummy tuck and blepharoplasty at local hospitals and out-patient surgeries. Patients also usually appreciate the added benefit that they are away from their surroundings during the recuperation period, with no friends and family to see them when looking less than their best after the operation. Whether patients are having cosmetic surgery abroad or in their home country, choosing the right surgeon is the single most important decision they will make. In the Philippines, there are many qualified and well-trained doctors who have had formal training in plastic and reconstructive surgery, have acquired their postgraduate or fellowship training from well-known institutions in the U.S.A. and have been mentored by leading plastic surgeons. To enhance their expertise, they regularly attend various seminars worldwide, where new techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery are introduced. The greater acceptance and growth of cosmetic surgery among the general public has encouraged many Filipino doctors to perform cosmetic plastic surgery. However, not all of them have trained as plastic surgeons. Once doctors get their medical degrees, they may practice any specialty, even if they have not completed advanced training in the field they have chosen. And so, a doctor who performs cosmetic plastic surgery is not necessarily trained as a plastic surgeon. To ensure best results, patients should choose an authentic plastic surgeon with the training and experience that is essential for the success of their surgery. When foreign patients choose to have their elective cosmetic surgeries done by qualified plastic surgeons in Philippines, they get exceptional value for the latest techniques in cosmetic plastic surgery. They combine having a vacation in a beautiful tropical country with affordable, quality elective plastic surgery. Dr. Carlos I. Lasa, Jr. is the only Filipino plastic surgeon ever accepted for advanced fellowship training at the prestigious Institute of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. He also trained at the University of the Philippines, & at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Ohio,USA. He is currently based in Metro Manila, Philippines, where cosmetic surgery is very affordable due to favorable exchange rates, and lower overhead costs and professional fees. Dr. Lasa specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery procedures such as liposuction, rhinoplasty (noselift), breast augmentation, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), rhytidectomy (facelift), abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck) and more. Dr. Lasa’s office and outpatient surgery clinic is located at the 3rd floor of Korben Place, 91 Roces Avenue, corner Scout Tobias St., Quezon City, Philippines. When Should You Get Loan Insurance?

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Peter Kenny Loan insurance is a product that everybody will be offered when they buy a loan, or might even have included in their loan package without them really knowing about it. If you are in the process of looking for a loan or want to know more about loan insurance, then this article will help you to decide which policy if any is right for you. What is loan insurance? Loan insurance is often referred to as PPI, or Payment Protection Insurance. Loan companies will urge you to get this insurance to cover yourself in case you cannot keep up with your repayments due to accident, illness or unemployment. The terms of these loan insurance policies varies from one company to another, and you should check out the policy thoroughly before signing anything. What are the advantages? The obvious advantage of loan insurance is that if anything should happen to you that stops you from keeping up with repayments, your loan insurance might be able to help you pay off some of the debt. This gives you peace of mind, knowing that you are covered if the worst should happen. It will cost you a fair amount of money, but if it keeps you covered against possible default if you are taken ill and cannot work, then it is probably worth the money. But is it really that simple? Problems with loan insurance Although there are cases when loan insurance is appropriate, there are many cases where you will not be covered by your policy. For example, many self-employed people will never be covered by their policies when they are unemployed, unless their company has completely ceased to trade. The criteria for cover are very strict, and you may find that there is very little in the policy that will apply to you and your circumstances. Are there alternatives? There are alternatives to loan insurance, with the main one being not to get the insurance at all. The insurance can add a significant amount onto the loan price without giving you many benefits. However, if you feel that you need cover then look for an independent insurance policy for your loan, which is generally cheaper. Also, you can check your other current insurance policies to make sure that you are not already covered by these policies. Should anyone get loan insurance? Although it can be expensive and limited, if you think that loan insurance will give you the peace of mind you want and that the policy will cover your circumstances, then take out a policy. Although many are a waste of money, there are policies that can help you in times of need, and you should look at the policy before accepting or rejecting it. This will help you to get the best deal for your loan, and to make sure you are covered in case you cannot keep up with repayments for some reason. Olive Oil, Extra Virgin or Pure?

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Shauna Hanus Olives and olive oil have a long history. It has been suggested that olives and olive oil have been around as long a 6000 years. The Bible even references olive branches in the story of Noahs Ark. It is unknown as to when people started to eat olives and their oil but its origins of use suggest that initially it was used in lamps as fuel as well as for cooking. There are two main types of olive oils, extra virgin olive oil and olive oil. The term extra virgin denotes oil that contains less than 1% acidity and has no treatment using heat or chemicals. Extra virgin also signifies the oil is from the first press or cold press. The tastes can range from a domestic mild or slightly rustic flavor to a peppery classic from Tuscany. Olive oil is often labeled as pure olive oil; this oil is refined with chemicals and steam. The oil is then blended with a higher quality oil to give an improved flavor and aroma. Often times this less expensive choice is used in recipes and for sauting. If you desire a purer flavor stick with the extra virgin varieties. Surprisingly enough olive oil lends itself well to chocolate. The high cocoa butter content in chocolate allows it to blend easily with oil and the olive oil flavor recedes nicely to the background. By using olive oil in place of dairy it becomes easy to create rich and creamy non-dairy chocolate deserts. When purchasing olive oil bring home the bottle and replace the lid with a pouring-spout stopper designed for use with liquor bottles. This will allow for spill proof pouring and more control over the stream of oil. The oil should always be stored in a cool dark location and used within a years time. This distinctive choice in oil can turn rancid if left on the shelf too long. Shauna Hanus is a gourmet cook who specializes in creating gourmet meal plans. Low Carb Diet Plan - Treat Your Body Like You Treat Your Car

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Michael Harris It simply amazes me. Everyday I see otherwise smart individuals cramming garbage into their faces without a single thought about what it’s doing to their body. They go out of their way to keep their vehicle in top running condition by putting in the best gas and engine additives (to keep the fuel lines clean and prevent gunk buildup), put in fresh plugs and wires (gotta have decent pickup!) and wash it every week. I can completely understand this attitude because a car’s amajor investment and you want to keep it as long as possible. On the other hand, your body is yours for life! You only getone. So why would you treat your body with any less respectthan you treat your vehicle? Why wouldn’t you want to putonly the best fuel available into your personal “machine”to keep it in optimal running condition? By eating junk food and drinking sugary sodas and fruit drinks you’re basically telling yourself that you don’t matter. That your material possessions are more important than your own health and well being. Doesn’t it make sense to give yourself the best possible chance at staying healthy when you’re the one paying the bills? I have a friend who’s a fairly shrewd business man. He sellscars on the side to make extra cash and he always makes aprofit. He knows a lot about cars and always keeps his ownvehicles immaculate inside and out. He’s also risen to the top of his chosen profession ofprinting and has a good family life. He’s a winner. Physically, on the other hand, he’s a different story. He has high blood pressure which causes his hands to shakeuncontrollably. His family has a history of heart disease. So what does he choose to eat when it comes time for his lunch? A candy bar, a muffin and a 20oz. bottle of Mountain Dew! Wow! The reason I bring up this particular friend (because I could use many others as an example of poor diet) is that he recently had a bout with hemmorhoids which caused him to alter his diet for the better which included cutting out the sugary sweets and soda and eating some roughage (Wasa Crispcrackers was the choice here), more raw veggies and drinking water instead of soda. This is the premise behind a true low carb diet plan. Cutout the simple carbs (sugar and processed foods) and eatsensibly. So what did this drastic dietary change result in? An amazing transformation to say the least. His hands almost stopped shaking completely (lowered his blood pressure), his energy increased (no more sugar spikes and crashes) and he just all around felt better. Oh, and his hemorrhoids gotbetter too! Now, you’d think that with all these nearly miraculous turnsin his overall health, he’d stick to what’s working and reduce his risks of heart disease and other ailments. Nope! As soon as he felt better he went back to his old diet (if that’s what you want to call it!) and back came the shakes. I doubt that everyone with bad dietary habits shows such obvious signs of their effects as my friend does, but rest assured that your diet is directly affecting your health. As the old saying goes “Garbage in, garbage out!” By adopting a low carb diet plan and sticking to it, youcan increase your energy and vitality, lose weight, buildself confidence (because you’ll look and feel better) andjust plain be healthier! Michael Harris has brought together a definitive collection of low carb information and tools that will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle through a low carb diet plan. Healing With Color FAQ

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By D.S. Braun Can Color Therapy Be Used With Other Healing Techniques? Yes, color and crystal therapy combine very very well - as does color therapy with reflexology. You can learn more of this by reading additional articles at AkobiAromas.com under Reflexology, Crystals and Color at the Article Archive. What is an Aura? By definition the aura is the energy field or Life Force that surrounds, encompasses and permeates all living things. The human aura is similar to a force field protecting and vitalizing every cell and organ of the body. This glowing energy has been called an electric blueprint. The Shape of the Aura or the Color/s in the Aura are they Important? The auras spiraling color vibration field can be seen, felt, and interpreted in an aura reading. Should the color or colors in the aura need healing, an aura healing can take place, bringing the aura into balance. A well-balanced aura should be balanced all the way around, with the color or colors and their stability (i.e., whether there are any breaks, gaps, or holes as well as the intensity of the color) being carefully noted. An example; when a murky color is present the aura is out of balance, this is when an aura healing would be helpful. Can we See the Aura? There are very few who are gifted to see the aura, however modern day technology allows us to photograph the aura in all its glorious color. An aura camera provides a visual image of how you are functioning mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This allows an aura specialist to give an aura reading and then if needed perform an aura healing. What are Chakras? The human body comprises many energy systems and etheric structures, the most important of which are the chakras. There are seven major chakras that run along the main vertical line of the body. Chakras regulate the flow of consciousness into and from the body. Chakras relate to all levels of human life - emotional, physical, mental and spiritual Why Color Healing? The history of color healing goes back over 5,000 years, from the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, Native American’s, and Tibetans to present day practitioners and healers. The ancient Egyptians wore amulets of colored stones. They wore red to treat diseases and building strength, yellow to create happiness, and green to increase fertility. Today we use blue light on newborn babies with jaundice in our hospitals. We know that some prisons use pink rooms to calm the more violent criminal. Also, many police stations use blue rooms for their interrogations, as the suspect is more apt to tell the truth in a blue room. Why Color Healing? It is a safe nontoxic alternative for healing. It Beats Drugs!!Color Therapy What Is It? Color Therapy is simple. It consists of applied color or colors and their vibrations to heal. Treatment modalities include; o Shining color lights on a person. o Being in a room painted (or lighted) in a particular color. o Wearing certain colored clothes. o Imagining colors shining upon you, while meditating or praying. o Eating fruits and vegetables of certain colors. o Wearing Color Therapy glasses. The eyes convert light (color) into a kind of energy, which travels through our nervous system, and affects all body functions. Studies have shown that when color is introduced to the human system it causes cellular and hormonal changes. This can bring the cells into synchronization or balance. Color Therapy eye wear is one method of using color. As the color enters the eye it is directed to the hypothalamus gland. It then goes to the pineal gland, which directs it to the pituitary gland. The pituitary governs and regulates hormone production. The brain processes this information, which causes the cellular and hormonal changes to occur. How Does Color Work? Each color vibrates at a specific, individual frequency, as do the glands and organs of the body. Each color corresponds to a specific area of the body. Color vibrates true to frequency. It never deviates. Color is like a vitamin. If you had a vitamin C deficiency you would increase your intake of vitamin C. If you had an excess of vitamin C then you would decrease your intake of vitamin C. Color works the same way. As an example, if you need to lose weight, then increase the color blue in your life. Do you get migraine headaches? Then increase the color red or indigo in your life. What about depression? You can decrease the color indigo. You can positively effect many areas of your life and health, through Color and Color Therapy. Chakras & Chakra Healing? The Sanskrit word chakra literally means wheel or “circle”. It is maintained that within the human body is a huge column of moving energy. It is made up of three main channels, which whirl like brightly colored flowers from the top of the head, to the base of the spine. Where the channels intersect, energy wheels or centers are formed. These are referred to as the chakras. The term Chakra is the most frequently used and descriptive word for the energy points or whirls of energy that exists within in the human body. We have seven vital chakras (as well as secondary or lesser chakras) located just to the front of the spinal column. The chakras are part of the bodys auric energy, and control the inflow and outflow of the life force, also known as Chi, and Vital Force. Each chakra vibrates to a specific color, and each color has both a positive and a challenging meaning. Creating a Household Cleaning Checklist

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Brian Ward Create a house cleaning check list and following the list all week, organizing helps make the household chores less of a burden. We all know that house cleaning is time consuming and frustrating, so we must prepare the cleaning checklist. The best reason to have a house cleaning checklist is divides the chores for all the family. You cleaning checklist does not have to just apply to one or two days a week, you can divide the chores up into several days. This way you can have the one to two chores opposed to several in one day. This is a good idea, start with the least appealing chore to get task out of the way first. Another good idea, when you are preparing a cleaning checklist list the furniture dusting at the top of the list. This is because dusting sometimes creates residue on the floor. You would not want to vacuum or sweep the floor only to discover you need to redo it once you have dusted. Some chores that do not need to be done each week that you will want to include on your house cleaning checklist. Dusting behind your appliances, cleaning the oven, and washing the windows are all important tasks. These chores can be placed on your checklist once a month. Another good idea is to offer an allowance to your children. If you decide to do this you can also teach your child the value of hard work. They will feel better knowing they are earning money and you will appreciate the house cleaning help. Brian Ward author of information articles, on home cleaning tips.
